Big Updation

I know it's been way too long since my last update, and for that I'm sorry. Most of you have heard our big news that we're having a baby soon, and that has put us in a frenzy of planning and nesting activity. Here's a of what's gone on since my last update, in roughly chronological order:

• Our visit to Sante Fe and Taos was a success. See Sunday's write up of it if you haven't seen it yet. It was good to see Creede, learn some history about a new place and the art gallery scene was impressive. If you want to art-shop - this is the place. The weirdest moment was when we drove past some war protesters and we saw one of them dressed up in Nazi regalia juggling colored balls. I'm not sure what point he was trying to make, but I'm pretty sure he was a protester given that he was standing next to a bunch of them. Sante Fe, like Boulder, is quirky.
  
• Sunday and I learned we're having a baby! It's a boy, and he's due in August. We haven't picked out a name yet.
• We spent a wonderful Christmas in Ardmore, complete with a night spent caroling with folks who really know how to sing and play piano.
  
• Karen Bretz visited us in Boulder. She looked at Boulder and Ft. Collins for internship opportunities, but wound up getting a much better gig at Ohio State University. This is great news for Karen, but it's too bad she won't be closer.
  
• Cyd visited, and we learned she'll be spending time in Boulder this summer. She was back from a whirlwind tour across China, Thailand, Vietnam, Tibet, India, Cambodia, and probably a lot of other places I forgot to mention. She had a lot to say about it, but it's all in email. Maybe I'll repost her emails at some point.
• Construction at Plan B has continued. We now have a house on a hill with a roof, windows, and doors. If we can get siding on it soon as planned, the exterior will be largely finished.
  
• We saw our friends Jen and Dave tie the knot last night. Congratulations you two!

I think that covers a lot of it. Other than that we've been nesting, trying to get the house ready for a little baby. We tore up carpet in our dining room and put down laminate flooring to reduce mess-potential, and have some pictures of that here:

Also, we bought a new car for Sunday - a Honda CRV: the quintessential mommy-mobile.
